An Advanced Directive is a legal document that is designed to help an individual communicate their wishes about medical treatment at some time in the future when they are unable to make their wishes known because of illness or injury. In such an event, medical professionals will use this document to determine an individuals preferred method, duration, or even absence of life-saving treatment.
